Montage of the PAB reference AVP: PAB basic AVP + massive enclosure + PAB bearing AVF

Maintenance and cleaning of the PAB anti-vibration devices

1. Montage and setup of the basis the reference platform 1. Montage and setup of the reference platform. The PAB bearing AVF should be bolted in the metal sockets on the lower part of the massive enclosure. This will become the basis of the reference platform. This basis should be placed on a rack, table or floor and leveled, if needed, by turning the upper part of the feet. We stabilize the set heights by tightening the counter bolts against the bottom of the platform. Then on the upper surface of the basis the isolation rings should be placed. Those will separate it from the shelf of the basic platform.
2. Placing the basic platform. Lower the shelf of the basic platform onto its plinth. Then take the platform by the longer edges with both hands, pressing the shelf against the plinth. Rotate the platform upside down and insert the funnels into the holes drilled in the basis of the platform, trying not to touch the edges of those holes. The shelf of the basic platform should gently touch the isolation ringds.
3. Levelling of the basic platform 3. Leveling of the basic platform. After placing the basic platform on the basis please adjust its position in such a way, that the funnels are in the middle of the holes drilled in the basis. This will result in the shelf of the basic platform to move freely, and its sides will match the sides of the basis.
4. Checking of the cover of the reference platform 4. The cover of the reference platform. The cover for the reference platform, second part of the massive enclosure, should be inverted and examined carefully, if it is absolutely clean in the milled parts. All foreign particles, like chips, elements of cardboard filling etc. should be removed, so that the bottom of the cover will fit the bottom part of the inverted basic platform correctly.
5. Placing the cover - I stage 5. Placing the cover − part 1. Approach the slanted cover to one of the feet of the basic platform supported by the basis of the reference platform (Warning: if the basic platform has regulated feet, those should be removed first, as they will not feet in the grooves of the cover). Lower the cover putting two feet in the lower grooves.
6. Placing the cover - II stage 6. Placing the cover − part 2. Lower the second part of the cover and place it on the basic platform plinth.
7. Adjust the edges of the enclosure 7. Adjust the edges of the enclosure. If the edges of the enclosure are not ideally aligned, move the cover to match. This will allow the fully mounted platform to look well and the functionality will be maximized.
8. PAB reference anti-vibration platform is ready to use 8. Calibration of the reference platform. Using the tensioners put the cover, which forms the shelf of the platform, to a level, which will allow it to move freely under the load of the device that will be placed on it. When the slit in the front of the platform is even, it means that the platform is leveled correctly.
The plywood or acrylic elements of the platforms or anti-vibration racks should be cleaned using a soft cloth, preferably a micro-fiber one, damped in warm water. From time to time (once in 1-2 weeks) the devices can be sprayed with anti-static fluid, used for cleaning LCD or plasma panels, and then dried using the micro-fiber cloth. The same procedure can be used for cleaning the metal elements of the platforms and racks, as well as the metal and bearing feet. A good way of dusting the platforms and racks is the usage of soft brushes to move the dust particles, and a vacuum cleaner to immediately suck them up. In case of contaminating the products with fat, extraction gas can be applied. In absolutely no condition nitro diluents should be used! The bearing feet with open bearings should be cleaned once in a few months. To do this, use a few drops of extraction gas or WD-40 fluid injected with a syringe into the bearing, move the bearing firmly a few times and use compressed air to blow the gas with the contaminants away. In case we do not have compressed air cans, paper.
